All About Emily!

Since I was young I’ve loved animals — both learning about and taking care of them! After graduating college and trying out various career paths, I decided to get involved in the dog grooming industry! I started as a bather at PetSmart but quickly realized the corporate scene was not for me. I then transitioned to working at an animal hospital. It was a great learning experience but I realized I missed dog grooming. I knew I had the potential to be a great dog groomer but needed some training by a professional! I didn't want to train through a corporate company, so I looked all over the tri-state area for a private salon that was willing to teach me the tricks of the trade. I was able to learn so much after accepting a job as a groomer trainee at a privately owned salon in Pennsylvania. The commute was long, but I quickly moved up to a full-time dog groomer and grew a passion for dog grooming! I always wanted to be my own boss and I decided it was finally time to take the leap and start The Swanky Spaniel Pet Spa in 2023!

I pride myself on the high-standard of care and services that I offer. Your pet's safety and happiness while in my care is ALWAYS my #1 priority. After working in both corporate and privately owned salons, I have met too many groomers that are very rough with the pets in their care. As a pet parent myself, I was very unhappy that this type of behavior was tolerated by other business owners. I've learned it is extremely important to make a connection with the pet on your table. The grooming experience is so much better for your pet when they are being groomed by someone, he/she trusts! As the owner of The Swanky Spaniel Pet Spa, I want all clients to know that I have no tolerance for verbally or physically abusive employees. I appreciate every client and pet that I have the pleasure of working with.
